PLE website “VESSAY”
This is a Personal learning environment website design proposal.
PLE is a new learning model premised on social media. It is learner-centered and provides both formal and informal learning platforms.

The main function of this website is to provide learners with a place to post a video or paper. As students, many times we write papers and don't know what else to do except hand them in class. On the site, students can post their articles and then choose to make them public to everyone, from their class to their classmates at the same school.
When a user logs in, he can also search or see what his friends have posted. He can learn by reading other people's articles, and he can comment in real-time, highlighting what he wants to comment on. The poster can then reply to him in his comments, or choose the emoji to reply to him. When users underline their favorite sentences, they can also see other users' comments, comment on other users, and choose to reply with emoticons. A wavy line means you like the sentence, and a straight line means someone comments on it.
On this PLE website, We can log in using computers or mobile phones, just like Canvas, the contents of mobile phones and computers are the same. Users can also share videos, such as presentations. Users can learn how to improve their own content by watching other people's videos or reading comments.
The users of our website, they can be teachers, students, and readers. Teachers can share some subject-related videos or articles on it, and students can share their own articles and videos. Of course, both teachers and students can comment on other people's articles and videos just as readers can.
On my website, you can join class groups by sharing with teachers. At the same time, you can choose your favorite community group to join. You can also create your own favorite community groups that others can join when they are searching.

ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! Build a community of essay publishers where students and teachers can discuss articles together and learn and progress together. This community feels like it could be effective in bringing writers and commenters closer together, especially if it is a friend or someone they know who comes to comment, it may be more likely to get the writer's attention. However, this community may result in too many comments and disparate opinions, leading to misguided writers, which may also need to be considered.
Hi Yixuan! This is actually a great idea for peer feedback on assignments. I like how it allows the students, not only the instructor, to see their peers' work. My main curiosity, though, is whether a new platform is needed to facilitate such an exchange. Is this better than Slack, Canvas, or Discord, as an LMS? Would be interesting to hear your thoughts. Love the idea!
ReplyDeleteThis PiLE web is a form of learning that I really like. Taking advice from teachers or professors is something that helps us understand the structure of our papers or writing ideas from a higher level of knowledge. When a community of peers is established, I think we can export more acceptable ideas and suggestions to each other, because we are more likely to share the same interests and more likely to propose optimizations on ideas and content. Of course the feedback among classmates can easily go into the debate of ideas and will be an exercise for our dialectical thinking. I think it will be a great challenge to get students involved in this community, but a very good idea!
